Through-hole solder tails (0.110" post length) anchor the header securely during wave soldering.
This prevents the cable from backing out under vibration or accidental tugging. A keying slot and mounting flange add mis-mate protection and mechanical stability — the flange can be screwed down in high-shock environments to keep the header from lifting off the board.
