It mates with AMP-Latch socket connectors (like 1-111196-8 or 1658621-1) for a board-to-cable/wire interface. The 4-wall shrouding and latch lock/eject hooks protect the pins and lock the mating half in place — the long eject hooks give tool clearance for unmating in tight spots.
