Contact Ratings and Plating Grade
The limiting factor is the pin density and contact cross-section, not the housing thermal capacity. Mating contact finish is gold or gold-palladium with 15.0 µinch (0.38 µm) thickness on the mating face, while the solder tails receive a 100.0 µinch (2.54 µm) tin finish. Square male pins in brass with a 0.240" (6.10 mm) mating length and 0.110" (2.79 mm) post length for through-hole soldering. The contact length provides sufficient wipe for reliable connection with the receptacle's dual-beam contacts.
