What this AMP-Latch header is for
The 4-wall shrouding and long latch lock/eject hooks keep the mating cable connector locked in place — important in equipment that sees vibration or frequent reconnection.
This header mates with standard AMP-Latch IDC socket connectors. The latch lock/eject hooks engage the socket's strain-relief ears. The 0.240" (6.10mm) mating pin length gives enough wipe for reliable contact even if the cable assembly is slightly off-axis. The square male pins accept standard female crimp or IDC terminals from the AMP-Latch contact family.
