Right hand keying on the housing prevents the mating receptacle from being inserted backwards — a common failure in battery harness assembly where the connector is mated blind.
Contact Plating and Material
Contacts are brass with a nickel finish at 74.8 µin (1.90 µm) thickness. That plating thickness is substantial — well above flash plating — so the contacts will hold up to repeated mating cycles in a battery swap scenario. The nickel finish also resists corrosion in the humid environment inside a battery compartment.
Housing and Temperature Range
The black insulation is molded from polyphthalamide (PPA), a high-temperature thermoplastic that handles the reflow or wave solder profile without warping. The operating range of -30°C to 70°C covers typical consumer and light industrial battery-powered equipment — power tools, portable instruments, and small UPS systems.
