80-Position Breakaway Header for Board-to-Board and Cable Interconnects
The 2.54mm pitch and dual-row layout (0.100" row spacing) define the PCB footprint — each pin occupies a 0.100" grid, so the 80-pin pattern spans 1.0" across the rows and 3.9" along the row length. Tin-plated mating contacts (100.0µin thickness) are rated for 3A per pin at 30VAC. Surface-mount solder tails eliminate through-holes, freeing board area for routing on the bottom layer. The 0.090" insulation height above the PCB leaves clearance for passives under the header body.
Unshrouded Design: Flexibility vs. Polarization Trade-off
Push-pull fastening means the mated pair relies on friction from the receptacle's contact beams — no locking latch. In high-vibration environments (e.g., near motors or engines), consider adding a retention clip or potting to prevent disconnection.
