2.00 mm pitch, 4-position receptacle housing for CT series wire-to-board harnesses
Pitch and footprint — what the 2.00 mm spacing means for layout
At 0.079" (2.00 mm) pitch, the 6-179228-4 aligns with the standard 2.00 mm header footprint. The single-row layout means a 4-position receptacle occupies roughly 8 mm of board edge plus the housing width — tight enough for dense harness breakouts but still hand-termination friendly. The pitch matches the CT series header pin spacing, so the mating half must also be 2.00 mm pitch; a 0.100" header will not fit.
Crimp termination and contact compatibility
This housing accepts the TE CT series crimp socket contacts (order separately). No special tooling beyond a hand crimper and insertion tool is needed for low-volume builds. For production harnesses, a semi-automatic crimp press with the correct applicator maintains consistent pull-off force across all four positions.
