3-position, 3.96mm pitch unshrouded header
The 640383-3 is a 3-position, single-row unshrouded header from TE's MTA-156 series, pitched at 0.156" (3.96mm). Rated for 600VAC and the current depends on the wire gauge you crimp into the mating socket — the header itself doesn't set the current ceiling; the contact and wire do. The through-hole solder termination and 0.125" (3.18mm) post length suit standard 1.6mm-thick PCBs. The natural colour housing is glass-filled thermoplastic, UL94 V-0 rated, so it passes the vertical flame test required inside enclosed equipment.
Tin contacts and 105°C operating ceiling
Tin-on-tin contact interface is the workhorse choice for cost-sensitive signal interconnects. For higher cycle counts, switch to a gold-plated sibling in the MTA-156 family. The 0.400" (10.16mm) mating pin length gives the crimp socket a full wipe distance on insertion, ensuring the contact wipes through any surface oxide before the final seated position.
