8-position MTA-156 header with friction lock
The 640445-8 is an 8-position, single-row pin header from the TE MTA-156 series. It mates with MTA-156 receptacle housings and crimp contacts for a wire-to-board interconnect. The 0.156" (3.96 mm) pitch sets the board footprint and the per-contact current ceiling; at the rated voltage of 600 VAC, the thermoplastic glass-filled housing (UL94 V-0) keeps the connector safe inside an enclosure.
What the tin plating means for field life
Tin is the standard for cost-sensitive, low-cycle applications — rated for tens of mates, not hundreds. In a general-purpose or industrial environment where the connector is mated during assembly and rarely touched again, tin plating is the right call.
