Right-angle unshrouded header for board-to-wire routing
The 640453-8 is an 8-position, single-row header from the MTA-100 series, with a 0.100" (2.54mm) pitch. It is unshrouded, through-hole mounted at a right angle, so the wire exits parallel to the board — a common layout for cable harnesses that need to fold flat against the PCB edge.
Mating half and wiring fit
As an unshrouded header, it mates with standard MTA-100 IDC receptacles or crimp-style housings that accept the matching 0.100" pitch female contacts. The 0.295" (7.49mm) mating pin length provides sufficient engagement depth for most socket connectors in the series. The through-hole solder tails are 0.140" (3.56mm) long, suitable for standard 1.6mm PCBs.
