The 641964-3 is a 2-position, single-row header from TE's Universal MATE-N-LOK series. The 6.35 mm pitch gives each circuit room to carry 12 A at 600 VAC — the per-contact current ceiling is set by the contact beam and housing material, not the wire gauge. The locking ramp on the shroud holds the mating receptacle in place under vibration — a real advantage in industrial cabinets or mobile equipment where the harness sees movement. The board guide on the housing helps align the header during through-hole insertion, reducing the chance of bent pins during assembly.
Through-hole termination and board fit
The 4-wall shrouding protects the male pins from damage during handling and guides the mating connector into alignment. Insulation height of 0.550" (13.97 mm) sets the z-height budget above the board — factor this into enclosure clearance if the header sits near a cover or panel.
