3.96mm pitch, 14-position MTA-156 header — selective-population variant
The 643710-7: This is a single-row, through-hole header from the MTA-156 series, with a 0.156" (3.96mm) pitch that sets the board footprint for a standard wire-to-board interconnect. The housing is moulded for 14 positions, but only 11 are loaded with tin-plated square pins — a selective-population variant that saves cost when the full circuit count isn't needed.
Tin-on-tin contact finish and current derating
Tin-on-tin contacts are rated for fewer mating cycles than gold, but they carry adequate current for general-purpose and industrial use when the wire gauge is matched to the load.
The through-hole pins are 0.125" (3.18mm) long, with an overall contact length of 0.650" (16.51mm). The shrouded 1-wall design protects the pins from one side and guides the mating receptacle — mates with standard MTA-156 crimp housings that carry the friction-lock ramp.
