6-Circuit MTA-100 Header with Friction Lock
The 644488-6: The friction lock on the shroud provides a positive retention with the mating receptacle, resisting vibration-induced separation in general-purpose equipment.
Obsolete — Sourcing Through Independent Channels
This part is marked obsolete by TE Connectivity. No official successor or pin-compatible replacement is recorded from the manufacturer. Available through independent distribution — quantities are lot-specific and confirmed at RFQ.
Plating and Contact Design
Both the mating and post contacts are finished with tin-lead over copper alloy. Tin-lead on the mating face is suited for moderate-cycle applications — it does not match the cycle life of gold, but the friction lock reduces fretting wear by holding the interface stationary once mated.
