Current and Plating — What the Ratings Tell You
It is not intended for the main power path. The contact finish is gold at 3.94 µin (0.10 µm), a thin flash that prevents oxidation during shelf storage and through the first few mating cycles. For a battery-pack interconnect that mates once at assembly and stays mated, that gold layer is sufficient. If your application requires repeated connect-disconnect in the field, the thin flash will wear through faster than a thicker gold or gold-over-palladium plating.
