Sizing the PCB footprint and wire range
The 0.156" (3.96mm) pitch is a standard MTA-156 spacing — the PCB layout needs a 0.156" hole pattern for the 0.175" (4.45mm) solder tails.
Compared to the 1-292164-1 (CT series, 0.079" pitch, 11 positions, detent lock, right-angle), the 644752-6 offers a wider 0.156" pitch for easier routing and a friction lock instead of a detent — the lock style difference matters for the mating housing retention feel. The 644752-6 also carries a 600VAC rating vs 125VAC on the CT part, making it the choice for line-voltage circuits. Against the 953440-3 (0.100" pitch, 6 positions, dual-row, right-angle, automotive), the 644752-6 is single-row and vertical, which simplifies board layout for a 6-circuit interface but takes more board edge space per circuit. The 953440-3's 12V rating limits it to low-voltage automotive; the 644752-6's 600VAC suits industrial power.
