Through-Hole Solder Termination and Shrouding
Termination is through-hole solder — the 0.175" (4.45mm) post length gives a solid solder joint on the PCB, and the 0.400" (10.16mm) mating pin length ensures full contact wipe inside the receptacle. The 1-wall shroud on the header guides the mating housing and protects the pins from accidental bending during assembly. The insulation height of 0.425" (10.80mm) is the clearance above the PCB surface after soldering.
