The TE Connectivity 647402-5 is a 5-position receptacle housing from the SL-156 series, built for wire-to-board power and signal interconnects at a 3.96mm pitch. The natural polyamide (nylon) insulator carries a polarizing key and locking ramp — the key prevents mismating with an unkeyed header, and the ramp locks the pair together against vibration in industrial or appliance harnesses.
The 3.96mm pitch is wide enough to route 20–24 AWG wire without crowding adjacent cavities — typical for power distribution in white goods, HVAC controls, and lighting ballasts. The locking ramp holds the mated pair under moderate vibration; the polarizing key adds orientation assurance on the assembly line.
You will need the matching SL-156 crimp terminal (female socket) to populate the cavities. The crimp termination style means you also need the appropriate hand tool or applicator for your press; if you already run SL-156 terminals on the line, the changeover is the same die set. Order the housing and terminals as separate BOM lines.
