The blue insulation colour is standard for AMPSEAL automotive-grade connectors, aiding visual identification on the assembly line.
Mounting and sealing details
This header mounts through the panel and solders into the PCB — the mounting flange provides the mechanical anchor, and the through-hole solder tails handle the electrical connection. The sealed construction means the interface between the header and the mating plug is protected against moisture and dust ingress when mated. This is not a fully submersible IP67-rated connector, but the seal is sufficient for splash zones in industrial cabinets and under-hood automotive locations.
Mating compatibility and termination
The male pins are circular, tin-plated brass — tin is the workhorse finish for moderate mating cycles (50–100 cycles) in non-corrosive environments. For applications requiring frequent disconnect, consider the gold-plated terminal variant in the same series. The 23 positions are all loaded; no optional empty cavities. The 3-row arrangement with 0.157" (4.00mm) row spacing means the PCB footprint requires a 3-row layout with staggered holes. Confirm the mating plug part number against your wire gauge and seal requirements before ordering.
