This square grid gives you a compact, symmetrical footprint for wire-to-wire interconnects in harness assemblies where space is tight but you still need a positive latch lock to keep the pair mated under vibration. The natural polyamide (nylon) housing is free-hanging (in-line) and accepts either male or female crimp contacts — the same housing can serve as the plug on both sides of a connection, which simplifies inventory if you standardise on one shell for a given circuit count.
