The 0.163" (4.14mm) pitch and dual-row layout give you a compact but serviceable interconnect for power and signal circuits inside equipment enclosures, automotive junction boxes, and industrial control panels. The natural nylon (PA) housing carries a latch lock that clicks home on the mating receptacle — no secondary hardware needed for vibration-prone runs. This is a housing only — contacts are not included. You'll need to order the matching Mini-Universal MATE-N-LOK II crimp terminals separately, in either male or female pin/socket form, and terminate them onto the wire before inserting into the housing cavities. The dual-row arrangement accepts 12 circuits total, with the 0.163" (4.14mm) row spacing matching the pitch for consistent cavity layout.
What It Mates With and How It Terminates
The 794198-1 plug mates with the matching Mini-Universal MATE-N-LOK II receptacle housing (same series, same 0.163" pitch and 12-position count). The latch lock on the plug engages the receptacle's locking ramp — you'll hear it seat. Termination is crimp-style: strip the wire, crimp the appropriate male or female contact with a hand or pneumatic tool, insert it into the housing cavity until the retention lance locks, and pull-test to confirm. The housing accepts both male and female contacts, so you can build either the plug or receptacle half from this same shell depending on the contact you load. Because contacts are ordered separately, the total cost per mated pair includes the housing plus 12 terminals plus the wire. Factor that into the BOM line — the housing price alone is only the shell.
