Series Identity and Connector Type
The TE Connectivity 794237-1 is a 2-position plug housing from the Mini-Universal MATE-N-LOK II series, designed as a free-hanging (in-line) connector for wire-to-wire or wire-to-board harness applications. It accepts both male and female crimp contacts, offering flexibility in pin/socket assignment within the same shell.
The 0.163-inch (4.14 mm) row spacing sets the pitch between the two rows, which dictates the footprint for the mating receptacle and the wire routing in the harness. The latch lock provides a vibration-resistant mate, suitable for environments where the connector may experience movement or shock. Crimp termination means the contacts are field-installable, but the housing ships without contacts — the crimp terminals must be ordered separately and inserted after wire preparation.
Mating and Termination
This plug housing mates with a Mini-Universal MATE-N-LOK II receptacle housing of the same position count and row configuration. The crimp termination accepts the corresponding male or female contacts (sold separately), which are inserted into the housing cavities and retained by the latch lock. The free-hanging mounting allows the connector to be used in-line without PCB mounting, common for harness-to-harness or harness-to-device connections.
