Product details

9-Circuit, 3-Row Universal MATE-N-LOK Receptacle Housing

It uses a panel-mount, twist-and-lock fastening system with a locking ramp — the housing twists into a panel cutout and locks without tools, making it a field-serviceable choice for harness-to-bulkhead connections. The 0.250-inch (6.35 mm) row spacing gives enough room for 20-14 AWG power or signal wires in each cavity.

The twist-and-lock panel mount requires a rectangular cutout with two keying slots for the locking ramps. The 0.250-inch row spacing and 3-row layout mean the panel opening is wider than a standard 2-row Universal MATE-N-LOK housing of the same circuit count — verify the cutout dimensions against the product drawing before committing the enclosure design.

Gender Flexibility

Unlike most receptacle housings that accept only female contacts, the 794761-1 accepts both male or female crimp contacts. This allows the harness builder to reverse the gender scheme in the same shell — useful when the mating plug is also a universal housing and you need to control which side carries the pin contacts. The 3-row, 9-position layout is not shared by the 4-position 1-2069332-1 (2-row, 0.400-inch pitch) or the 6-position 1-2069882-6 (2-row, free-hanging), so position count and mounting method are the primary differentiators when selecting within the series.

Frequently asked questions

Does 794761-1 include contacts or are they sold separately?

Contacts are not included with this housing. The Universal MATE-N-LOK system requires separate crimp terminals ordered as a distinct BOM line. The housing accepts both male and female contacts, so select the terminal gender to match the mating plug's contact arrangement.
