Grace Inertia GIC 8-Position Plug Housing
The TE Connectivity 8-1971793-1 is an 8-position, single-row plug housing from the Grace Inertia GIC series. It uses a 2.50 mm pitch and a latch-lock fastening system, designed for free-hanging (in-line) wire-to-wire or wire-to-board connections. This is a housing-only part — contacts are not included and must be ordered separately, crimped to the wire, and inserted.
Mating and Termination
This plug housing accepts female socket contacts terminated via crimp. The matching receptacle is the Grace Inertia GIC header (male pin) housing. The latch lock provides audible and tactile feedback when fully mated, which is important for vibration resistance in industrial or automotive harness applications. Because contacts are not included, the build requires selecting the correct TE crimp terminal for the wire gauge being used.
