Gold mating finish and contact design
Gold on the mating face prevents oxidation over repeated mates and in humid or mildly corrosive environments; the flash thickness supports moderate cycle counts — adequate for field-service connectors cycled a few times a year over a decade. The solder tails are tin-plated at 118.1 µinch (3.00 µm), compatible with standard lead-free wave-solder processes. The post length of 0.126" (3.20mm) fits through a typical 1.6mm PCB and leaves enough protrusion for a reliable solder fillet.
