What the tin plating and 5A rating mean in practice
The 826936-3: Tin-plated contacts are best suited for applications with fewer than 50 mating cycles — the tin surface can frett under vibration or repeated insertion, but for a header that gets mated once and stays put (e.g., a board-to-wire harness in a control panel), it is a cost-effective choice. The 5A rating per contact is the maximum at 25°C; derate above that ambient per the series guidelines.
