The friction lock fastening holds the mating receptacle in place without a secondary latch — adequate for low-vibration environments where a positive lock is not required. Gold plating on the mating contact surface (3.00 µinch) resists corrosion and supports a moderate number of mating cycles, while the tin-plated solder posts (78.7 µinch) are compatible with standard soldering processes.
