MCX Jack, 50 Ohm, 6 GHz — TE 829559-2
The snap-on fastening gives a quick, positive mate — no coupling nut to torque, which matters when you're making frequent connections in a test setup or a tight panel. The gold body and gold-plated center contact (beryllium copper / phosphor bronze) keep corrosion at bay and hold contact resistance stable over 500 mating cycles. Insertion loss is spec'd at 0.1 dB, so the signal path stays clean through the interconnect.
Fit and Interface Notes
The 829559-2 mates with any standard MCX plug that uses the snap-on coupling. MCX is a subminiature push-on interface — smaller than SMB, with a 50 Ohm impedance. The through-hole mounting and solder shield termination mean it solders directly into a PCB; the PTFE dielectric handles the -65°C to 165°C operating range, so it can live in an outdoor enclosure or near a hot component. The single-port, female socket configuration is the board-mounted half of the pair.
