Unshrouded push-pull — where it fits and where it doesn't
The 87215-3: The unshrouded design mates with standard IDC receptacles and low-profile socket strips, but offers no polarization or latch — in high-vibration or blind-mate applications, a shrouded header with a locking latch (e.g., peer 1318699-3, 4-row, 4.20 mm pitch, latch lock) is a safer choice. For bench equipment, test boards, or low-vibration enclosures, the push-pull retention is sufficient.
