The TE Connectivity 87456-7 is a 12-position, dual-row receptacle housing from the AMPMODU Mod IV series, designed for free-hanging (in-line) wire-to-board or wire-to-wire interconnects. The housing accepts female socket crimp contacts (ordered separately — contacts are not included) and mates with the corresponding AMPMODU Mod IV header.
The 12-position count matches a 12-circuit BOM line; the dual-row arrangement (2 rows of 6) keeps the connector width manageable for harness routing. The free-hanging mounting means no board footprint is required on the receptacle side — the housing clips into a panel or floats in the harness, which simplifies field replacement. The -65°C to 105°C range covers most automotive and industrial enclosure environments without derating. Because contacts are not included, the total cost per mated pair must include the crimp terminals — factor that into the BOM line cost, not just the housing unit price.
