Pitch, positions, and plating — the three numbers that drive the fit
Six positions loaded all, single row, 0.156" pitch — this is a low-density, low-profile interconnect for signal or moderate-current lines. Compared to the 12-position, 0.100" pitch 1-2823056-2 (which uses forked contacts and tin plating), the 87984-6 offers fewer positions at a wider pitch with gold-on-gold contacts — choose the 87984-6 when you need corrosion resistance over contact density, and the 1-2823056-2 when you need more circuits in a tighter board footprint.
The tube package is the standard factory pack; larger quantities are quoted per the BOM line.
Through-hole solder termination — the 0.112" (2.84 mm) post length is short, so the PCB hole depth and solder fillet must be designed for that post length; a thicker board or a deep plated-through hole may leave the post proud of the solder joint. Confirm the header's post length and orientation (straight vs right-angle) against your board stack height before ordering.
