As a breakaway header, the 9-103323-0-05 can be snapped to the desired position count from a longer strip — the 5-position variant is factory-set and loaded with all positions populated.
The 9-103323-0-05 is unshrouded and uses the standard 0.100" pitch, which means it mates with open-frame receptacles and is easier to probe or rework on the board. The 1394090-1 adds a latch for vibration resistance and a tighter pitch for higher-density routing, but it also requires a mating half with the corresponding latch feature.
