Gold Mating Finish for Repeated Connect Cycles
The mating contact finish is gold over nickel at 15.0 µinch (0.38 µm) — a standard thickness for moderate-cycle applications. In a bench-test or field-service environment where the connector is mated and unmated a few dozen times over the product life, this plating resists fretting corrosion and keeps contact resistance stable. The post (solder tail) finish is tin at 100.0 µinch (2.54 µm), which wets well during wave soldering.
