Wire-to-Board Terminal for 13.5-17 AWG, Through-Board Press-Fit
The TE Connectivity 925553-1 is a wire-to-board terminal designed for a direct press-fit into a PCB hole — no housing required. It accepts 13.5-17 AWG wire, with the insulation diameter spanning 0.098" ~ 0.150" (2.50mm ~ 3.81mm). The terminal body is brass, and the overall length is 0.453" (11.51mm). The PCB hole diameter needed is 0.106" (2.69mm). This is a single-contact termination method for permanently attaching a wire end to a circuit board, common in power distribution or ground connections where a discrete wire lands directly on the board.
Wire Gauge and Insulation Fit
The terminal accepts 13.5-17 AWG wire. The insulation diameter range of 0.098" ~ 0.150" (2.50mm ~ 3.81mm) is the window the terminal's wire barrel and insulation grip are designed to close around. A 16 AWG wire with typical insulation falls within this range, so the terminal can be used with 16 AWG. If the wire's insulation OD is outside this range, the terminal may not crimp or seat correctly.
Through-Board Press-Fit Termination
The terminal type is Through Board, meaning the wire end is terminated by pressing the terminal into a 0.106" (2.69mm) diameter plated-through hole in the PCB. This is a solderless press-fit connection — the terminal's compliant section deforms to grip the hole wall. It is a permanent, high-reliability termination for applications where a soldered joint is undesirable or where the assembly must withstand vibration without a solder fillet.
