This is the female side of the connection — it accepts crimped female socket terminals and mates with the corresponding male header. The 5.00mm pitch and dual-row layout (5.60mm row spacing) give it a compact footprint for a 6-circuit power or signal harness, while the black PBT insulation material provides the dimensional stability and flame resistance expected in under-hood and equipment-enclosure environments. The single most important thing to know about this housing: contacts are not included. A common BOM mistake is to order only the housing and then stop — the build stops until the matching female socket contacts arrive. Plan for the terminal order alongside the housing.
The housing is keyed and features a locking ramp to prevent accidental unmating under vibration, a standard requirement for the automotive applications this series targets.
