Silver-plated rectangular tabs on copper-zinc contacts handle the current duty — silver carries higher current without the contact resistance creep of tin under temperature rise. The 0.366-inch (9.30 mm) mating contact length gives good wipe before the tab seats in the receptacle.
For high-cycle field-service or corrosive atmospheres, a gold-plated sibling would be the better call. The rectangular tab shape mates with the corresponding receptacle's tuning-fork contact, common in the Junior Power Timer family.
