The steel shell provides full shielding, and the contacts carry gold GXT™ plating — a hard gold alloy that holds up to the rated 10000 mating cycles without significant wear. Rated 0.5 A per contact at 40 V, with an operating range of -20°C to 85°C and a UL94 V-0 rated housing.
HDMI 1.4 vs 2.0 — What the Spec Means
This connector is built and tested to the HDMI 1.4 specification. It will physically mate with any standard HDMI plug, including HDMI 2.0 cables, but the signal path is only qualified for HDMI 1.4 data rates. For an HDMI 2.0 link (18 Gbps), the connector's electrical performance — crosstalk, return loss, and skew — may not meet the tighter margin required. If the application calls for HDMI 2.0 compliance, use a connector explicitly rated for that spec.
