Design Engineering Note — BERGSTIK II Dual-Row Header
The Amphenol FCI 87900-106HLF is a 6-position (2×3) unshrouded male pin header from the BERGSTIK II series, built on the industry-standard 0.100" (2.54 mm) pitch. It is a board-to-board interconnect intended for through-hole soldering into a PCB, with a push-pull mating interface. The 0.100" row spacing mirrors the same pitch as the pin rows, so the footprint is a simple 2×3 grid of 0.025" square pins — no special routing or oversized keep-out zones needed. The phosphor bronze base metal provides spring retention in the pin body. The 0.720" (18.29 mm) mating length gives a deep wipe for the receptacle contact, and the 0.120" (3.05 mm) solder post is short enough to clear most through-hole boards without bottom-side interference.
