In a production environment where the FFC is inserted once and never touched again, the 20-cycle rating is effectively infinite. If your application requires frequent cable swaps (e.g., test fixtures or modular field units), consider a gold-plated sibling in the SFV-R family.
Slide Lock ZIF — No Insertion Force, Positive Retention
The ZIF mechanism means the FFC/FPC slides into the open actuator without force — the contact beams do not touch the pads until the slide lock is closed. This eliminates pad scoring and ensures consistent contact pressure across all 10 positions. The slide lock, once engaged, holds the cable against vibration and prevents back-out. The actuator is black polyphenylene sulfide (PPS), glass-filled and halogen-free, matching the black nylon housing.
The cable end must be straight and tapered — the taper helps guide the cable into the ZIF slot without stubbing. The bottom-contact design means the cable's conductive pads face downward toward the PCB, so the cable orientation matters when routing to the board edge.
