JST 02KR-6H-P — 2-Pin IDC Socket for Discrete Wire Harnesses
It's the two-circuit end of the KR line — the smallest position count in the family, sharing the same 0.079" (2.00mm) pitch and single-row layout as the 3-, 4-, and 5-position siblings. The gray housing is free-hanging (in-line), designed to mate with a matching 2.00 mm pitch pin header. Tin contact finish keeps the cost down for applications where the connector mates once or infrequently — think internal harnesses, sensor leads, or low-cycle interconnects inside an enclosure.
IDC Termination — Wire Prep and Tooling
Cable termination is IDC — no stripping or crimping. This is a production-friendly termination for harness builders who want consistent gas-tight joints without individual crimp operations. The trade-off: wire gauge is fixed at 26 AWG; the IDC slot won't reliably terminate 24 AWG or 28 AWG. A hand press or benchtop tool with the correct KR-series die is required.
Position Count — 2 vs 3, 4, 5 in the KR Series
The 02KR-6H-P is the 2-position member of the KR series. The 03KR-6H-P carries 3 positions, the 04KR-6H-P has 4, and the 05KR-6H-P has 5 — all otherwise identical: same pitch, same 26 AWG IDC termination, same tin finish, same gray housing. The decision is simply circuit count on the BOM. If your harness needs three conductors, the 03KR-6H-P is the direct step up; there's no other difference in footprint or mating interface.
