JST 03ZR-8M-P: 3-Circuit ZR Series IDC Receptacle
The JST 03ZR-8M-P is a 3-position receptacle in the ZR series, designed for discrete wire IDC termination. It uses a 0.059" (1.50mm) pitch, making it a compact wire-to-board interconnect for tight harness layouts. The housing is green with a closed-end feature, which blocks wire protrusion and adds mechanical support at the end of the connector. The contact is a tin-plated female socket, rated for the standard signal-level currents typical of the ZR series. This is the female mating half for the ZR series pin headers.
Pitch, Position Count, and Wire Gauge
The 1.50mm pitch is the defining footprint constraint — it matches the ZR series pin header layout and keeps the board-side footprint small. The IDC termination is fixed for 28 AWG wire; the insulation displacement slot is sized for that gauge, so using a different wire size risks an unreliable connection. Compared to the sibling 03ZR-3H-P, which accepts 30 AWG and has a natural-colored housing, the 03ZR-8M-P is the 28 AWG variant with a green housing — the pitch, position count, and closed-end feature are identical.
This receptacle mates with JST ZR series pin headers of the same 1.50mm pitch and 3-position count. The closed-end housing accepts the header shroud fully, and the tin-plated female socket provides reliable contact for signal-level circuits. The IDC termination eliminates the need for separate crimp terminals — the wire is pressed directly into the insulation displacement slot. For field replacement, the connector is free-hanging (in-line) and does not require board mounting.
