Product details

5-pin signal interconnect for tight board layouts

The Low Insertion Force (LIF) feature means the FFC slides in with less force than a standard ZIF connector, reducing pad wear on the flex circuit during repeated mating cycles. It accepts 0.30 mm thick FFC, which covers the vast majority of standard 0.3 mm pitch ribbon cables.

What the 0.5 A rating means for your circuit

At 0.5 A per contact, the connector is not meant for power distribution — it's a signal carrier. If your BOM has any pin drawing more than 0.5 A continuous, you'll need to either parallel multiple contacts (not recommended for signal integrity) or step up to a higher-current series like JST's XH or VH. The vertical orientation (contacts vertical - 1 sided) means the FFC enters perpendicular to the PCB, which saves board-edge space compared to a right-angle connector. The 5.10 mm height above board gives clearance for components underneath the mated cable.

Frequently asked questions

Is 05FMN-BMTTN-A-TF compatible with standard FFC cables?

Yes — it accepts 0.30 mm thick FFC with a 1.00 mm pitch. Most standard 0.3 mm FFC cables with a 1.00 mm pitch and straight cable end type will mate. The LIF actuation requires no locking slider; just push the cable in until it stops.
