What This Connector Is and Where It Fits
The JST 08KR-D6S-P is an 8-position IDC socket from the KRD series, terminated to 26 AWG discrete wire. It uses a 2.00 mm pitch, which sets the footprint for the mating header and the wire-to-board spacing in the harness. The tin-plated female socket contacts are suited for applications where the connector is mated infrequently — think internal wiring in consumer electronics, small appliances, or control panels where the harness is assembled once and stays put.
Wiring and Termination: IDC on 26 AWG
This is an IDC (insulation displacement) termination — no wire stripping, no crimp tool. The 26 AWG discrete wire is pressed into the slot, and the contact cuts through the insulation to make connection. The free-hanging, right-angle body lets the wire exit parallel to the board edge, which keeps the harness profile low in tight enclosures. The natural (uncolored) housing is the standard for this series; color-coding is not a selection factor here.
