ZR Series IDC Receptacle for Discrete Wire Harnesses
The JST 11ZR-8M-P is an 11-circuit receptacle from the ZR series, designed for mass-terminating discrete 28 AWG wire using an IDC (insulation displacement contact) termination. The 0.059" (1.50mm) pitch keeps the connector narrow — useful when routing a multi-conductor harness into a tight enclosure or along a panel edge. The closed-end housing prevents the IDC contacts from being exposed at the back, and the green colour helps visually distinguish it from other ZR-series members on the line.
Position Count and Pitch — Matching the BOM Line
With 11 positions at a 1.50mm pitch, this receptacle matches the footprint of the JST ZR series pin header with the same circuit count. The single-row layout means the board-side header occupies a narrow strip of PCB real estate.
IDC Termination and Wire Gauge
The IDC termination is designed specifically for 28 AWG discrete wire. Straying from 28 AWG risks a poor connection: thicker wire may not fit the slot, and thinner wire may not be gripped securely. The tin-plated female socket contacts are adequate for the signal-level currents typical of this pitch class, but the tin finish means fewer mating cycles than a gold-plated contact would offer — plan for limited disconnect-reconnect duty in the field.
The active status means no last-time-buy pressure, but the narrow 1.50mm pitch and 28 AWG IDC termination are specific enough that a direct drop-in substitute from another manufacturer is unlikely.
