Product details

Wiring this 12-position SR receptacle without a crimp tool

The JST 12SR-3S is a 12-position receptacle from the SR series, terminated via IDC — no crimp tool needed, just a press. Use anything thicker and the IDC slot won't close; anything thinner and the insulation won't pierce reliably. The closed-end housing blocks wire push-through, so the conductor stops where it should — a detail that matters when you're building a harness without a backshell.

Still in production — no last-time-buy scramble

It's ROHS3 compliant, which covers the current EU directive.

Frequently asked questions

What is the pin pitch of JST 12SR-3S?

The pin pitch is 0.039" (1.00 mm). That's the center-to-center spacing between adjacent contacts, and it determines the board footprint if you're designing a matching header.

Is JST 12SR-3S a male or female connector?

It's a female receptacle with socket contacts. It mates with the corresponding male header from the SR series.

Does JST 12SR-3S have a locking feature?

The SR series uses a friction-lock mechanism on the housing, not a positive latch. It holds the mated pair together under light vibration but isn't rated for high-shock environments without additional retention.
