The housing you order is empty — plan for the terminals
The JST EHR-9 is the 9-position receptacle housing from the EH series. The natural PA66 (Nylon 6/6) insulator is rated for -25°C to 85°C operation. The most important thing to know before you BOM this part: the housing ships without contacts. The spec note is explicit — contacts are not included.
9 positions at 2.50 mm — the fit parameters
The 9-position count and 2.50 mm pitch are the two dimensions that lock the board layout and harness routing. The single-row layout keeps the housing narrow — useful where wire exits are stacked along a board edge. Against the 8-position EHR-8, the EHR-9 adds one cavity at the same pitch, same row count, same housing profile. The choice is strictly circuit-count driven: match the position count to the number of signal or low-power lines you need to terminate.

Mating and termination — what goes with it
The EHR-9 is a receptacle housing — it mates with the corresponding JST EH series pin header (through-hole or SMT, straight or right-angle). No secondary retainer is used on this series — the primary housing latch holds the terminal.
