The JST PALR-05VF is a 5-position plug housing from the PA series, designed for free-hanging (in-line) wire-to-wire or wire-to-board harness applications. The 2.00 mm pitch keeps the footprint compact while leaving enough room for hand-assembled crimp terminations — a practical balance for tight enclosures and multi-conductor runs. The single-row layout with a locking ramp gives a positive audible click on mating, so the connection stays put under vibration without needing a secondary latch.
Contacts Not Included — Order Crimp Terminals Separately
The housing ships without contacts — you need to order the matching male pin crimp terminals separately. The crimp termination style accepts the correct PA-series pin terminal (soldered or crimped to the wire), then inserts into the housing cavity until the locking ramp seats it.
Mating and Mounting — Free-Hanging, Locking Ramp
This plug housing mates with the PA-series receptacle housing (e.g., the PAP-05V or similar) that carries the female crimp terminals. The locking ramp on the plug snaps over a matching ramp on the receptacle — no tools needed, just push until it clicks. For free-hanging installations, the housing has no board-mount features; it floats in the harness. If you need a panel-mount version, the PALR-05V (same 5-position, same pitch) adds snap-in panel mounting but keeps the same locking ramp and terminal layout.
