The R8-5 is a D-shaped ring terminal for 8 AWG wire, crimped onto a #10 stud in a free-hanging, in-line mount. The brazed seam construction and 0.047" (1.19mm) thickness give this terminal a solid barrel that resists splitting under the crimp die.
Sizing against the R14-5 and R5.5-5
The R8-5 handles 8 AWG at 0.047" thick, sitting between the R5.5-5 (10-12 AWG, 0.039" thick) and the R14-5 (6 AWG, 0.059" thick) — all three share the same #10 stud size, 0.472" outer width, and non-insulated brazed-seam construction.
