2-Position VL Housing for In-Line Harnesses
The JST VLR-02VF is a 2-position receptacle housing from the VL series, designed for free-hanging (in-line) wire-to-wire or wire-to-board harness applications. The housing accepts male pin crimp terminals (ordered separately — contacts are not included) and secures the mated pair with a latch holder for vibration-resistant retention. The 6.20 mm pitch provides generous spacing for larger-gauge wire and maintains creepage distance in power or signal circuits.
Pitch, Positions, and Housing Details
The VLR-02VF carries 2 positions in a single row at a 6.20 mm pitch. The white PA66 (Nylon 6/6) housing is rated for -25°C to 90°C operation. The latch holder fastening type locks the plug and receptacle together without tools.
Mating and Termination
This receptacle housing mates with the matching VL series plug header (male pin side). The crimp termination requires the appropriate male pin contact — typically the JST VLP-xxV series terminal — which is ordered separately and crimped onto the wire before insertion into the housing. The latch holder on the housing engages with the mating half's locking ramp to prevent accidental disconnection under cable strain or vibration.
