You order the male pin terminals separately — JST part numbers for the VL series, depending on wire gauge. The crimp termination means you can re-pin it on site with a basic tool, which is exactly what you want when a backed-out terminal kills a line at 2 AM.
Circuit Count vs the 4-Position Sibling
The VLR-08V carries 8 positions across 2 rows, against the 4 positions of the VLR-04V and VLR-04VN at the same 6.20 mm pitch. The decision is purely circuit count — the 8-way gives you four more lines in the same connector footprint width, but the housing length scales linearly. If your BOM calls for 8 circuits, the 4-position housing won't fit the harness; if you only need 4, the 8-way leaves empty cavities that collect debris in dirty environments.
