What You're Actually Buying — and What You Still Need
The contacts are not included — that's the first thing to know if you're building a harness or restocking a repair kit. JST lists them under the XA series contact range. The housing accepts a single row of 3 circuits at a 0.098" (2.50mm) pitch, with a crimp termination that lets you field-terminate wires with a standard JST hand tool. For a panel-mount application, the housing clips into a rectangular cutout; the latch engages with the mating plug header to prevent accidental disconnect from cable strain.
The XARR-03VF is the 3-position version of the XA series receptacle housing. Its direct sibling is the XARR-02VF at 2 positions — same 2.50mm pitch, same latch lock, same panel-mount footprint.
